UK Programme Intern

The CARA UK Programme's core work is the provision of grants to support refugee academics in undertaking academic or professional qualifications to help find gainful employment in the UK commensurate with their skills and experience.  The UK Programme Intern will support the work of the UK Programme Team.  This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to make a real contribution to a small and busy charity and to get involved in a range of tasks.

Middle East Programme Intern

CARA launched its Iraq Programme In 2006, initially with Fellowship and Hardship Schemes to run in parallel with its  UK Grants Programme.  Since 2008 it has established a presence in the Middle East with a small office located in the British Institute, Amman, Jordan.  Now known as the Middle East Programme, it involves a number of complementary initiatives delivered in both the UK and the Middle East working with those forced in to exile post the 2003 invasion, but more recently supporting capacity building amongst those still in post through the Iraq Research Fellowship Programme and the Regional Round Table Series.

The overall objective of the Middle East Programme is to help sustain and enhance the skills of Iraqi academics living in recent exile as a result of events in Iraq post-2003 and to facilitate their continued contribution as academics and to the resurgence of Iraq’s Higher Education.

Development Intern

With CARA's recent involvement in the 2012 London Paralympic Games and our 80th Anniversary in 2013 this internship makes for a great opportunity for a confident individual  looking to find gainful experience in the Third Sector. The intern will be expected to support CARA’s Development Manager in the smooth running of all activities, events, external relations and development. The internship will provide an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to make a real contribution to a small yet busy charity. The internship will give the opportunity to gain experience in areas that are essential when seeking employment in the not-for-profit sector.
